The conversation reflects on several talks we had while being in Skopje for the symposium “Hey, what do we have to lose? Archiving as an act of collective resistance” and an exhibition organized by Press to Exit Project Space in the frame of the international project Collective Domain of Cultural Memory.
We start the conversation by reentering a museum in Skopje that was opened to the public in 2011. A micro world created an instrument to dictate a specific way of reading history. An overwrite of history that continues and extends in the city.
Between then and now both of us have thought about the encounter with "Skopje 2014" as each of us contributes with a presentation that engages with the reconstruction and antiquization of Skopje. Instead of talking directly about our works, we share thoughts that stayed with us since then.
