Marjoca de Greef is a curator and the artistic director of Suns and Stars. Her practice is composed of explicit and implicit relationships, which means that cross-domain collaboration is her modus operandi. Since 2018, Anastasija Pandilovska has joined her in Suns and Stars to create new landscapes for non-competitive modes of art making. Marjoca is interested in the ritual dimensions of art and material culture, and how relational qualities of objects affect situations and events. She has developed numerous multi-authored and investigative projects and exhibitions, often in culturally and historically defined spaces, including Arrows Shot from the Bow (2016) at the Rietveld Cordemeyer Huis, together with artists Rūta Butkutė, Remy Jungerman, Babette Kleijn, and Sachi Miyachi; and Huishoudschool (2017) a series of restorative workshops and performances about repair and maintenance techniques with artist Emmeline de Mooij. When physical encounters became off-limits in 2020, she created with Anastasija Pandilovska the online platform: In the pause of a gesture there might be an echo. In 2022 she was the conceptual initiator, and one of the curators of: U zult begrijpen dat, a reflective exhibition, exhuming the wartime past of the artist's society Arti et Amicitiae. The exhibition was curated in close collaboration with historians Lucie van Hulst and Eliza van Walraven, and bolstered by the exceptional exhibition design by Marieke van Diemen. Currently, Marjoca is one of the curators of We don’t want to be stars, but part of constellations.
